What is Flipgrid?
- Flipgrid is simple tool by Microsoft, teachers can use to create short-disucssion style that students can respond to through recorded videos. Flipgrid boost community and social presence in face to face, hybrid and online classrooms.
This is the example of Flipgrid from Dr Maged's class.
Flipgrid for learning
- Flipgrid implement the motto "Relax and Discuss" where students and teachers can discuss about lesson through recorded video. It makes the learning process feel alive since everything is online now.
- Also, it is a great tools for ensuring all voice are heard. Therefore, teachers can know well about their students and no one left behind.
- It is recommend for high schools and higher level elementary school students because communication is the key at this point
Tips for teachers
- Create a discussion topic for your community
- Choose how learners will access your Flipgrid Topic by adding email domains or IDs
- Each grid (Group) can hold an unlimited number of questions (Topics) and each question can hold an unlimited number of responses.
- After your list of questions is complete, you can active them, then click the share button to send the link or code to your students. They will then follow instructions to film and upload their 90-second answer from home.
All in all, Flipgrid is one of the most effective for learning in today's life since we are living in new normal. So, I really recommend this apps in your future teaching one day as well as students can learn a new advanced technology.
